Muhammad Hussein Al Haj Nasif AKA Abu Abbas, Hezbollah‘s most senior commander in Syria was ambushed and killed in Syrian by rebel forces – The Syrian National Army (formerly known as the Free Syrian Army).
Al Haj Nasif was in his 40’s and is from the Lebanese town of Budai.
He has been a key person in Hezbollah’s military and security establishment since the early days of the organization (the 1980’s).
He was involved in the planning and execution of attacks on Israeli forces in Lebanon in the 1980’s and the 1990’s.
In addition, he was a senior figure in Hezbollah’s security and counter-intelligence operations.
As always, Hezbollah has disclosed no details regarding the killing of Al Haj other than the announcement that “Al Haj was killed while fulfilling his duty.”
